Identity and Activity Alignment.

life Nov 05, 2019

How you identify yourself and your activities typically coincide with the success of  meeting your goals or getting that change you desire.

Let's take weight loss as this is a mainstream conversation in society. Those that want to lose weight, start to change their actions ie eating differently, maybe starting to exercise, but they don't change their identity to the person they want to become-----that person who already weighs 20 pounds less, who makes good food choices, food preps, or allows planned cheats (yes people food choices are not all about deprivation)

Here's another example.

When you want to make more money, you must also look at what and how you are spending your money. (This could be an instant pay raise right there). How are you saving your money? What do you believe about money?

Being out of sync with your identity and what you do can pose a threat to the success of any goal for your life. So take a moment and think about what your goal is, who you need to become in order to achieve that goal, and now what are you doing to align with that goal and person.

When identity and activity do not align it yields room for self doubt, self criticism, and eventual abandonment of the dream or hope of achieving the goal altogether.

Wanting to achieve your goals?

Change is not just in the doing, It is a transformation. It is becoming that person. Growth and transitions take change - wanting to get in more alignment with who you want to be in your life.
